A Personal Approach to Editing Excellence

With over twenty years experience in the book industry, encompassing sales, publicity, editing, and much more, I started KMacdonald Editing to work with authors in bringing great books to readers. I aim for authors to get the best possible service from me and to feel supported as part of an editorial partnership.
While I enjoy working in all areas of fiction, I specialise in speculative fiction and children's literature, and my own bookshelves are filled with authors such as Terry Pratchett, Jodi Taylor, T. Kingfisher and Michael Crichton.
I have previously worked in children's and YA publishing bringing a wide range of titles to life, and my experience in book selling includes customer sales, business to business and direct selling. These experiences give me an in-depth knowledge of what readers are looking for from the books they pick up.
Away from books, I live in the beautiful village of Aviemore in the Cairngorms in the Scottish Highlands, and am originally from the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. I am passionate about mental health awareness and enjoy spending time away with my family in our campervan.
